Cooking instructions

Simply heat the sauce with your choice of pre-cooked meat, fish, paneer or vegetables

All appliances vary. These are guidelines only. Check food is piping hot before serving.

TIP: Cook the sauce uncovered or partially covered to allow steam to escape and sauce to thicken. Cook for a little longer to thicken the sauce to your desired consistency and achieve a deeper flavour.

Chicken Madras using PRE-COOKED chicken

  1. Add the sauce and pre-cooked chicken and simmer gently for 5-10 minutes or until chicken is piping hot throughout and sauce thickened. Serve with rice.

Chicken Madras using FRESH chicken

  1. Dice 2 chicken breasts (300g) and gently fry in a little oil for 3 minutes (optionally add ½ teaspoon garlic and ginger paste and ½ teaspoon mix powder to improve flavour of the chicken).
  2. Add the sauce and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens. Serve with rice.
Storage instructions

Store in a cool, dark, dry place. See pouch for best before date. Once opened refrigerate & use within 3 days. Do not use if pouch is bloated or leaking.

Suitable for home freezing

  1. First time i bought these i loved the taste but they only seemed like a Madras heat and not really a Vindaloo. Any how i came back and bought some more and i don’t know if the recipe has changed but they now seem much like the heat i would expect in a Vindaloo. Just a tad hotter please then they would be perfect!!! Oh, and please, please, please make a Vindaloo paste!!!!!

  4. Hello. Bought another 3 pack of the vindaloo. Every time I try them I feel the need to do a review – some might think that I am a rogue reviewer, but I am not, lol. This sauce is excellent and of a quality that I have come to expect from this company. By far better than anything in the supermarket – we are talking restaurant quality. Buy and enjoy.

  5. Really enjoyed this sauce. Made a large batch for freezer. Heat is good, could do with a little bit more flavour. I have been making curries for years, and this is the closest I have to restaurant grade. When I have made it, always something missing and could not quite achieve it, scratch making and made sauces. Please keep making this.

  9. Very authentic sauce. Great depth of flavour. I usually add potato and a squeeze of lemon plus coriander at the end. Also great in the slow cooker! For extra hot I add cayenne pepper. Always good service from East at Home. Would highly recommend

  12. Well I only ordered the Vindaloo sauce as it’s a fairly new product and there was a free postage code to take advantage of. I’m still working my way through the Madras sauces that I bought some time ago. I actually use them as a base gravy, but they do make a good base for a Vindaloo or Madras curry believe it or not. Before I leave my review for the order, I have to say that I wasn’t in a hurry to receive it. I ordered the curry but was surprised at how long it took for EAH to actually despatch it. I had forgotten about it by the time it actually arrived. Like I said, I wasn’t in a hurry, but I do remember wondering where it was at one point, and then quickly forgot again. So I have left a star rating of neither happy or miffed. If it was for more than just the Vindaloo sauce, say a much larger order, then I might have been a tad annoyed. There you go, my honest review.

I have been using your curry gravy for several months (which is amazing) but due to work commitments I have been using the heat and eat sauces, I have had the Jalfrezi and Madras which are really authentic, but tonight I had the Vindaloo and I have to say it was fantastic just the right heat, and definitely restaurant quality. I hope you make this is a permanent product in your shop and have you thought about doing a Phall?
