Enjoy a delicious Rogan Josh curry in under 30 minutes with our  Rogan Josh spice kit. Just add a few simple ingredients to our special onion mix and  Rogan Josh spices, and cook it all in one pot. It's easy, quick, and serves four. Perfect for a tasty meal without the fuss.

Just add:

  • 600-800g chicken (or any other meat or veg of your choice)
  • 8 tablespoons (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 medium (100g) onion sliced into strips
  • ½ green pepper sliced into strips
  • ½ red pepper sliced into strips
  • 200ml water
  • 1 tin (400g) of chopped tomatoes
  • Handful of chopped coriander (optional)

No base gravy or any other spices needed.

Tasty curry

Nice curry, but lacked a the depth of flavour I was expecting. Still tasty, but I prefer the bhuna or dopiaza.

Husbad loves it!

Rogan Josh has been a favourite of my husband for over 40 years and I tried many times to recreate that flavour and taste but it just never happened. BUT!! Since finding East at Home and having tried most of the Heat and Eat sauces, I saw the Rogan Josh Spice Kit and thought: go for it!! I am so happy that I did because it has ticked all the boxes for the husband and of course, it is so easy to make. This kit is bang-on with flavour and authenticity.

Still not satisfied the taste myself although the family enjoyed it. Cannot seem to get the restaurant taste but will keep trying.

So Simple - So Tasty

A simple two sachet mix - One is the spice for the sauce the other appears to be dry onion for the 'Base Sauce'. It was full of flavour and definitly a different flvaour from their other 'mild sauces'. If you can fry chicken - then you can blow your friends away with this easy to use mix. (top tip - add fresh tomato quaters)

Used this last night, and it was the best Rogan Josh I’ve ever made. It had a lovely taste and I had a takeaway style curry on the table in less than half an hour and much cheaper. Will always keep this in and the others in and I hope a Balti kit comes out soon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Instructions

Chicken Rogan Josh Recipe

Serves: 4  |  Cooking Time: 30 Minutes |  Mild to Medium

Ingredients

  • 600-800g chicken (thigh or breast) cut into chunks 
  • 8 tablespoons (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 medium (100g) onion sliced into strips
  • ½ green pepper sliced into strips
  • ½ red pepper sliced into strips
  • 200ml water
  • 1 tin (400g) of chopped tomatoes 
  • Handful of chopped coriander (optional)
  • East at Home Rogan Josh Spice Kit

Instructions

  1. Scorch Onions & Peppers: In a wide-based pan heat 4 tbsp oil and fry onion and pepper strips for 5 mins until they start to blister. Remove and set aside.
  2. Soak Onion Mix: Soak onion mix (sachet 1) in 150ml hot water for 3 mins.
  3. Fry Onion Mix: In the same pan, heat 4 tbsp oil. Fry soaked onion mix for 3 mins on medium high heat.
  4. Add Spices: Lower heat, add spices (sachet 2). Cook for 1 min then add 50ml water, cook on low for 2-3 mins until oil separates.
  5. Add Chicken: Turn heat to medium high and add chicken, coat in spices. Cook for 3 mins.
  6. Add Tomatoes: Stir in tomatoes and cook on high heat for 5 mins stirring occasionally.
  7. Add Onions & Peppers: Turn heat to medium high and add the scorched onion, peppers. Cook for 5 mins.
  8. Finish: Add coriander, stir, and rest for 5-10 mins before serving.

Tips: 

  • For a drier curry, cook a bit longer without the lid.
